Musei Civici

The Musei Civici of Monza reopened to the public in the Casa degli Umiliati after being closed for more than thirty years.

Established in 1935 around an important core collectors came to the municipality in 1923 by the bequest Galbesi Segrè, the Musei Civici of Monza include the collections of the Civic Art Gallery and Historical Museum of the Arengario.
Over time the assets of the collections has been enriched with works of art and different repertoires originating from donations, purchases and as a legacy of the most significant artistic and cultural events held in the city during the twentieth century: Biennials, ISIA, Painting Award city of Monza and, in more recent years, the Bienniale Giovani.

In the seat of via Theodolinda, built restoring a historic building of the religious order of the Humiliated located in the city in the Middle Ages, is shown a selection of 140 works - divided into 13 sections - emblematic of the historical and artistic events of Monza.
